Russian Su-27 takes on a Bayraktar TB2 in the Ukrainian sky.

A clash on the horizon: The Su-27 challenges the Bayraktar TB2

Turkish media has released a shocking video revealing how a Russian Air Force [VKS] Su-27 fighter deploys its might and audacity in an attempt to shoot down a Ukrainian Bayraktar TB2 drone. The scene is set five days after two Su-27s shot down an American NQ-9 Reaper in the Black Sea, the victim of a fuel leak.

The shocking sequence shows two attempts by the fighter, believed to be a Su-27, to shoot down the drone. The Bayraktar TB2 jerks violently but manages to regain its footing and stay airborne, hovering more than 19,000 feet above the waters of the Black Sea.

The ferocity of a predator: The Su-27 unleashes its “jet wind.”
Turkish experts suggest that the Ukrainian drone did not go down because, unlike the MQ-9, the Russian fighter did not collide with the rear propeller of the drone. In this way, the “jet wash” of the Su-27, like a dragon’s breath, slightly disturbed the thrust of the drone without actually shooting it down.

Surprisingly, the fighter jet did not use missiles this time to shoot down the Ukrainian drone. Some speculate that the Russian jets were not armed with missiles or perhaps prevented an escalation of the conflict with Washington and Moscow.

Ukraine under the yoke: The Russian invasion and the beginning of the war
On February 21, 2022, Russia accused Ukraine of destroying an FSB border facility and killing five Ukrainian soldiers. Ukraine denied the accusations, calling them a false flag. That same day, Russia recognized the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR and ordered the entry of Russian troops, including tanks, into the regions.

On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin triggered an invasion of Ukraine, followed by targeted airstrikes and the influx of tanks from Belarus. Despite denying that it is a “war,” the Russian invasion is precise since a UN resolution does not back it.

A world on the brink of the abyss: Global tension intensifies
As Russian and Ukrainian forces wage fierce clashes, the atmosphere in the international arena is filled with uncertainty and fear. The confrontation in the Black Sea between the Russian Su-27 and the Ukrainian Bayraktar TB2 is just one example of the escalation of hostilities and the imminence of a conflict of even greater proportions.

Each clash between Russian and Ukrainian forces is a reminder of the ferocity and power of the modern war machine. The Su-27, like a ruthless eagle, tries to shoot down the Bayraktar TB2, a drone whose endurance and agility resemble a tenacious hawk. The outcome of this deadly dance in the sky is uncertain, but what is clear is that the situation is becoming increasingly delicate.

The prelude to a global disaster: what does the future hold?
With the Russian invasion of Ukraine and ensuing air battles, the shadow of a global war looms on the horizon. What will happen in the coming days and weeks? Will the world’s nations be able to avoid the outbreak of a conflict of catastrophic proportions?

Meanwhile, airborne combatants such as the tenacious Bayraktar TB2 and the deadly Su-27 continue to fight their battles, facing off in a warlike arena that seems to be edging ever closer to the brink of the abyss.
